3-DAY Workshops
Friday, Saturday & Sunday throughout the year.
Videomaker Workshops include three days of learning with the editors of Videomaker magazine! Our Workshops provide you with the opportunity to meet the pros and explore all elements of video production here at our headquarters in Chico, CA. Each session holds about 25 people and focuses on a specific aspect of video production. Following a half day of lectures, the classes break into smaller groups to work on projects that reinforce the skills being taught during the lectures. Videomaker's sponsors provide equipment and video cameras, but you are encouraged to bring your video camera to the workshop.

Attendees will use Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 video editing software.

The best story is a true story. Non-fiction productions come with their own unique challenges and obstacles. In the Documentary Workshop you will learn how to meet those challenges with story, funding, production and distribution advice. Students at the workshop will attend lectures on documentary creation and development illustrated by examples from famous documentaries. In addition to theory students will learn practical tips on sound, shooting and conducting interviews, all in a fun and supportive environment.
Introduction to DVD Authoring
You can register for these dates here: December 5-7.
Our instructors will give attendees an overview of the computer tools and processes necessary for putting videos onto discs. We'll cover DVD usability, DVD software and hardware and DVD authoring techniques (both for recordable DVD media and for professionally duplicated distribution). Attendees of the DVD Authoring Workshop must bring a miniDV tape containing a video of 5 minutes or less in length. After the seminars attendees will be organized into disc-authoring teams. Each team will design and master, on a computer, a DVD containing the video clips brought by the group's members. Attendees will use Adobe Adobe Encore CS3 DVD authoring software.
